FAQ
Everything you need to know before your first night.
Coming to a game night
- Who can come?
- Any veteran or service member is welcome. There's no sign-up, so just come on by whenever you're ready.
- Does it cost anything?
- Not a thing. Game nights are always free for veterans, thanks to our donors.
- What should I bring?
- Just yourself. We'll have decks you can borrow, and once you're hooked, we'll set you up with a Commander deck of your own.
- How do I find you?
- Look for someone in a VTG hat or shirt and say hello. If you don't spot us, the store staff can point you to our table.
- Do I have to play?
- Not at all. Plenty of folks just pull up a chair and hang out. Spending time together is what it's really about.
The game
- I've never played Magic.
- You're in good company. Lots of us learned at a VTG table, and our site leaders love teaching new players.
- I already play.
- Awesome! Bring your favorite deck and we'll find you a seat.
- What format do you play?
- We mostly play Commander, a relaxed multiplayer format that's easy to pick up and made for good conversation.
Getting involved
- Can you start a gathering in my town?
- We'd love to. Tell us where you are and we'll see what we can do.
- How can I help?
- Donate, wear the gear, or invite a veteran you know. Every new face makes the table better.
